We’re off to UKGovCamp 2012

by on January 19, 2012

UKGovCamp 2012 logoThis Friday & Saturday (20-21 Jan) Eduserv will be attending and sponsoring UKGovCamp for the second year running.

Working for a company that specialises in supporting government organisations I will be very interested to listen to ideas about how we can further align our products and services with government requirements, and evolve our existing services to keep up with new technology trends.

My role at Eduserv is to design and build our Community Cloud Infrastructure, which combines secure multi-tenant compute and storage Infrastructure-as-a-Service with utility pricing and billing.

This weekend we will be offering free use of our vCloud Compute service to enable people to host projects for the Saturday or just for anyone who fancies a test-drive.

If you read this and are interested, feel free to bring along OVF images to upload or suggest OS images/Apps you would like available on the Cloud for this weekend.

Some suggestions are:

  • CentOS
  • Ubuntu
  • Windows 2008
  • Any application software you would like to install

Any VMs which are built and used at the weekend can be downloaded as OVFs again at the end of the conference so bring a USB drive or something to keep them on.

Look forward to seeing you all in London tomorrow!
